FAQ
What has been settled, answered plainly. Anything still to be decided is not answered here rather than guessed at.
- May anyone come?
Yes. The Mercantile is open to everyone and no invitation is required. Places are booked here, in advance, and admission is free unless you want the Passbook. Come on your own, with a friend, or with as many people as you like.
- When is No. I, and what are the hours?
Thursday, 3 September 2026, in two sittings. Early admission runs 17:00–19:00, with The Golden Hour No. 1 at 18:30. Later admission runs 19:30–21:30, with The Golden Hour No. 2 at 21:00. The hall is closed between 19:00 and 19:30.
- Where is it held?
Rowington Village Hall, Warwick CV35 7DB, in Warwickshire. Parking is free and there are attendants on the car park. How to get there.
- What does admission include?
That depends which admission you take, and the two are set out side by side when you book. See what each one includes. Your ticket admits you to the time you chose when you booked, including that time’s Golden Hour. A workshop place is priced on top of admission and is chosen and paid for on the same form — there is no second booking to make.
- How many admissions are there?
300 across the evening, so that the room may be properly enjoyed, and each admission time takes its own share of them. Whether a particular time still has space is shown against it when you book, and a time that fills is closed while the other may still be open.
- May I arrive part-way through my admission time?
Yes. There is no need to be first through the door. Come whenever suits you within the time you booked — but do note when it ends, and that its Golden Hour is part of it: Early admission closes at 19:00, with The Golden Hour No. 1 at 18:30. Later admission closes at 21:30, with The Golden Hour No. 2 at 21:00. A ticket does not carry over into the other admission time.
- Is there parking?
Yes, and it is free. Attendants will be on the car park to help you find a space.
- Is the hall accessible?
There is step-free access, a disabled WC, and separate men’s and women’s toilets. If you have an access need we have not covered, write to us and we will tell you plainly what the hall can and cannot do.
- Can I turn up on the night without booking?
No. Admission is limited to 300 and every one of them is taken in advance, so there is nothing to buy at the door and nobody is admitted without one. If you hold a free ticket you may upgrade to the Passbook on the night. It costs a little more than booking the Passbook here does — the lower rate is what booking ahead is for — and it is paid at the door rather than through this site.
- What is the Passbook?
A printed event guide, numbered to the edition and given to everyone who takes the Passbook ticket. It has a page for every merchant, the offers most of them are putting on, and a space for a stamp from each stall as you go round. A completed Passbook earns free admission to The Mercantile No. II. It is yours to keep.
- Is there wi-fi at the venue?
Yes, and it is free. Ask at the Host’s Desk on the night and they will give you the details.
- What is the Parcel Office?
Our staffed purchase-collection desk. Leave what you have bought with us and carry on browsing with your hands free; everything is waiting for you as you leave.
- What is the Golden Hour?
At the Golden Hour, Passbook holders receive their second Mercantile Mocktail and a homemade macaron. The rest is a surprise. The hint is in the name.
There is one at each admission time — 18:30 & 21:00. Each sitting has its own, and your admission carries you to the one belonging to the sitting you booked.
- Is there anything to eat?
Yes, and enough of it to be your supper. Hot artisan pizza with a choice of toppings, crisps and nuts, cookies and fruit, and a macaron at the Golden Hour. It is carried by the Passbook Admission. The Well — still and sparkling water all evening — is open to everybody.
- Who is putting it on?
The Mercantile is run by Lexus and Kelsey White, and Delwyn and Natasha Cook. The hosts have traded at markets themselves.
- Can I change my mind, or pass my admission to someone else?
Admissions are transferable but not refundable. An admission may be given to another person at any time and at no charge: write to us with your entry code and we will arrange it.
- How do I become a merchant?
Introduce your business through an invitation to trade. We read every introduction and reply within two working days.
